Okay - day 1!

Managed to give up for three years, until i stupidly started again around a year ago. Grrr!!! Anyway, I'm on day 44 with no booze, so this is the next logical step.

Finding it quite difficult but have my inhalator and yummy things to eat.

Wish me luck.

Yes, I think it the next logical step also. I could never consider myself "clean" and sober if I were causing such harm to my body when addictively smoking. Hopefully, by yummy things to eat you do mean raw vegetables right? :-)
One thing that really helped me was exercise of any sort and just staying busy. Course I believe exercise and proper diet should be first and foremost in beating any addiction. It keeps the blood flowing, optimizes production of the primary feel good brain chemistry, and of course strengthens the body. While I think luck has little to do with it, good luck anyway.

Hmm, raw vegetables....not quite yet I've been squeezing oranges and grapefruits to get some good old vit c into me, but sadly, chocolate is also winning! I am into exercsing too, but haven't done too much yet today.

Exercise is clutch

WTG mummy!!!!

reward yourself, I love popsicles, maybe a movie rental and some popcorn-

My wife made popcorn over the weekend which was the super lo-cal version- all plain, so I usually put parmesan cheese on it (which is awesome, try it), but we were out over the weekend so I tried celery salt on my popcorn

it sucked

Celery salt is good for..........um.........um........well maybe, celery (haha) I can't believe you put it on popcorn-bonk- -bonk (haha, that's hilarious! you are so funny chippa, thanks for the laugh). Another good for celery is a little cream cheese (or the one that starts with an N cheese) sprinkled lightly with Paprika. Mmmm! I've got to try the Parmesan on popcorn snack. Were you the one from TTS who told me about the Baked Garbanzo Beans lightly seasoned with either Parmesan, garlic or chili powder or a favorite seasoning powder. Those were tasty too. Anyway, good hearing from you. Have fun with the kiddos and Congratulations, in advance, to your wife as she prepares to quit. Draw her in to the Quit Wizard if you can....sooner the better, right? Take good care now. My husband just came in saying there's corned beef and cabbage warmed up and ready for me. Have a good night. Tootaloo!

Onto day 2 - my husband bought tons and tons of fresh fruit for me yesterday - sadly I smothered it all in double cream quite possibly undoing all the good that I was trying to do!! Anyway, still working at it- no drink (45 days!) no ciggies. Argh!!

They don't have double cream around these parts collmummy-

and btw cess celery salt is a good ingredient in BBQ rubs and in Jambalaya and chilis and such, but on popcorn it WAS absolutely horrible, that pan you're smacking me with isn't big enough!

The one good thing was I actually TASTED it isolated from everything else, so it was a learning experience, I guess- that's a good vehicle to taste something by itself because popcorn is so bland- I think white rice would work the same way...

Coolmummy if double cream is like cool whip or whipped cream, I think you're still doing pretty good- maybe calorically it's not the best thing, but fresh fruit IS one of the best things, literally, you can put in your body so it's still a victory and whatever you put on it is way the hell better for you than cigarettes- also sounds like a non-processed thing (processed being like CRISPS or twinkies) and I maintain that anything you make from scratch is waaaay better than anything you just take out of a package and eat

WTG and keep up the good work

hears one for you .. take all that fruit and put it in a blender add some ice and lil bit of milk or even ice cream for a creamier flavor. fresh fruit smoothies ,, very very good and very good for u , tho sometimes you may wanna add just a dash of sugar to bring out the sweetness in the fruits . put it in a pretty glass and add a chuck of fruit to the brim sit back and think warm tropcial places
