Sorry to hear about your back Chi, I hope it feels better soon. The med your doc prescribed sounds awful, can you not go back and ask for a different one? I am sorry to hear that you caved, but it is hard, I have tried to quit so many times it's unreal, all we can do is keep on trying ![]() Sax

Chi, don't beat yourself up, you are not alone in this struggle. Over 400,000.00 American alone die every year from this addiction, if it was easy no one would smoke. Alcoholics and addicts have no monopoly on the kind of stupidity that makes people feed an addiction even while it is killing them. Try, try, try again!

Chi, Keep on quitting m'dear. I'd have postponed my attempt if you hadn't stopped before me. You spurred me on... ( Into this undead state, shambling from room to room, gibbering and drooling, like a George A Romero extra). ... thanks, you can do this! |

Chi the folks here give good advice- keep at it- It took me a zillion tries and they used to say on the other quitting website I was on that any quit strengthens you, even if you cave- 1. You learn from it- why you caved in, can you avoid putting yourself in that position again 2. You bring a 'bar' into the equation- now you made it three days (I believe, I haven't checked for sure) next time if you can make it past that, it's a success- I'm sure you've quit before for one day and you beat that record 3. It's like anything, the more times you do it, the better and better you get at it- you're practicing- next year at this time (arbitrary date, you can certainly set your own) you'll be the Michael Phelps of quitting smoking 4. Every cigarette you don't smoke is good for you- in three days when I was smoking, I could have done a lot of damage you can believe- Hopefully this makes sense- one and four were actually ones I learned from that site, I sort of 'riffed' numbers two and three Anyways good luck, utilize the support you have here! |
