I smoked one after four months I smoked a cigarette yesterday after four months smoke free. I felt and still feel really terrible about it. I don't know if it is psychological or physiological, but I feel like I am having cravings now. Does anyone know if smoking one can cause you to become physically addicted again? It was not worth it at all! I had put it on a pedestal in my head, and though tit would be great, but it was nothing. My stress just became too much and I smoked one.

I don't know if it's psychological or physical. I've been on Chantix for a week and I'm scheduled to quit tomorrow! Your post scares me because I guess like an alcoholic hopes he might be able to drink socially one day, I hope that one day I can be a casual smoker! Probably not a good idea to pick back up. Let us (me) know if the craving goes away!

Have 18 days in the bank, every day that passes makes it easier, the cravings go away, I don't have to act on them. Start over, don't take the next one, it will get easier with time. | |

My husband got a couple of smokes from one of his friends and brought them home. I took one drag, felt like my lungs were on fire, coughed a bunch and immediately put the cigarette under the faucet. I don't think I could make it through an entire cigarette but I have almost 3 months and still have some strong cravings so I think the psychological stays with us for a long time. Hugs, Marle

I thought "just one" wouldn't hurt. That was on December 25th. I'm still struggling to get back to where I was. I *had* been quit for over 2 years. And threw it all away. Don't pick up another one, please. ![]() Shalom!
