| Purchased Chantix today
Went to my dr's appt and got a script for Chantix, got that filled, signed up on the Chantix counseling program on the website, called and signed up for a stop smoking class that will meet Tuesday evenings starting in April. I will start the Chantix next Saturday. I'm getting geared up. I'm feeling apprehensive though... |

...on your decision to quit. The Chantix is a great help. It will take away the really strong craving feelings; I've been on it since January 12th, 2008. I was kinda apprehensive at first too, so I know how you feel. Stay in touch and let us know how you're doing OK? GH

Well I didn't start my Chantix this weekend as planned for a variety of reason, which I won't go into. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row so I won't fail. My new date to start it is March 22nd. I know it sounds like an excuse but I really have a plan. Grateful Heart, are you having any side effects from the Chantix? How long did you take it before you quit? |

I am rooting for you! Just took my first Chantix about 20 minutes ago. My smoke nearly fell out of my mouth when I swallowed it. I think the Chantix website needs to list the first hurddle to quitting is to get the prescription filled. Have had it for a week and just couldn't do it even though I really want to quit. Good luck!

Hey! I wanted to let you know that I had great success with Chantix. I encourage you to set your quit date and go for it! I haven't had a cigarette in 2 mos which is an absolute miracle. I had a few vivid dreams but nothing awful and I felt a little tired during the day. But I would say that the side effects were absolutely worth it! I haven't gone 2 months without a cigarette since I was about 14 years old. I've been smoking for 24 years! Chantix took away the urgent, unrelenting need to have a cigarette. I just didn't think about it as much. And if I did think about smoking, it gave me enough willpower to think "nah, I don't really need one."

tstorm, this is my second day of taking Chantix. I have not had any of the known side affects. Sweet! I can already sense a diminished physical urge to smoke but the mental addiction seems to be the same. I had several periods through the day, yesterday, that an hour or so went by and I didn't smoke, then my mind said have a cig. Think I need to call upon my higher power for help with this, it worked when I quit drinking.

I'll work on taking that off in the up coming weeks. And the reason I gained is because I'm eating, so I could've prevented that too. Keep going!!

| Chantix
I just started using Chantix today and felt very tired - the nausea goes away and it helps to eat with it. I also heard it reduces alcohol cravings as well, an added bonus for an alcoholic! So far today I have not smoked even one puff and didnt really miss it - I was a one pack a day smoker and a two bottle of wine boozer..Good luck on your quit!

Wish me luck! I take my first chantix pill tomorrow! I'm excite AND nervous. I signed up for a weekly stop smoking class at our local health department. It begins in a week and half. I also signed up on Chantix web site. Pinkbuffalo I love your pic. |
