(((Renee))) I know you are so worried about your mom....And I'm sorry... Nicotine addiction is very very strong. You ask where her bottom will be. No one can say. Only she can and will determine when she's done. Please realize, she's not feeling good about smoking now. She's embarrassed; perhaps even ashamed. She know's it's hurting her health and that it's hurting you. But, this is not about you. I'm sorry. Your mom has a very strong physical and psychological addiction. You can harrass her, but to what end? A hostile relationship? Better to give her a gentle reminder that you love her and want her around as long as possible - once in a while. You might also get information, and leave it for her; info on Chantix, or Welbutrin; on nicotine anonymous, (if there is one in your area), get the phone number of the American Lung Association quit line; the American Cancer Association quit line.... And then, leave it alone. This is her battle to fight. As much as we want to, we cannot cure their addiction. And she'll get the idea. ![]() I wish you serenity. I know it's very hard for you... Shalom!
