| Medicine Returns
Hi all. Is it possible to return persription medicines that have not been opened? I got some Chantix yesterday and I'm thinking of taking it back. I want to overcome my nicotine addiction, but this medicine seems to have lots of negative side effects. Guess I should have researched it more before I asked my doctor for it

No; under the law they cannot take it back. At least in RI. My guess is any state. The liability issue would be far too high. Cuz, it only takes one nut case to poison a batch of meds.... know what I mean? You can check with your pharmacy or with the state attorney general's office, though, if you'd like. Shalom!

I believe you can return the medication, but they have to dispose of the medication properly (they can't return it to the shelves). Best thing to do is call up your pharmacy and ask, because each store probably has its own policies about that.
