wdnwfn -

Haven't gotten that far yet (11 or 12 days). I get in enough trouble with my mouth, I hope I don't get in worse I know the first week I quit, I was much more vocal about everything, but I figure that was just withdrawal. Haven't had a problem this time, but have been at home for my 2 days off....will find out how I do when I get back to work tomorrow night.

Congrats on the 11-12 days!

Keep up the good work, everyone!

And remember, keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!

You can do it CeCe. I just called the pharmacy and my patches are in. I'll be quitting tomorrow. I ended up coming home sick after my first class today, so I have a feeling I'll be in bed tomorrow. Sounds horrible, but it will be good for me, as I will be less likely to want to get up and go outside to smoke.

Day 3, again. Actually, am trying to thing positive that out of the past 2 weeks, I've smoked very little over 4 days, and didn't smoke at all for 10 days. Progress, not perfection.

Still a little irritable but it's not nearly as bad as it was last week. I pick up my friends on the way to work and bring them back home (they have no car). They smoke my brand...told them tonight that if it starts bothering me, they'll have to stop smoking in my car.

Got hold of the pharmacy last night, they are out of stock of my patches, so I won't be starting until Monday. I'm still hitting all the non-smoking sites to keep up the mindset though

Got my patches this morning. I was so sick yesterday, and knew my patches wouldn't come in until this afternoon, so I bought a pack of cigs to hold me over. Ends up I was so sick still with this cold I didn't even start the last pack by the time the patches came.

I sat down, smoked the last four cigs in my other pack in one go, and then put the patch on. I've been in bed ever since resting up from this cold, hoping to go to work tomorrow.

well, I blew it. We were robbed at work this morning and as soon as the police got there, 4 of us reached for the cigarettes. Will finish what I have and quit again.....one of these times I'll stay quit

I can't say that early in my quit, being robbed wouldn't have me starting up again. The important thing is you recognized your trigger (unintended pun).

Yum, these candy canes taste really good. I'm enjoying being at work this evening and not worrying about going out for a smoke in the pouring rain.

Well, I'm quitting again today. Actually bought one more pack the day after the robberty, but have 1/2 a day again with no cigs.

I have the hardest time at work, when EVERYONE not only smokes, but smokes my brand. Will have to figure out how to deal with it.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

You can do it amy!

I had a using dream last night. I found a freebie pack of two awesome bic lighters. Yeap, that was my dream. Not only were they lighters pretty to look at, but you could get them to turn colors and so on. So of course, I was holding them, playing with them. By the time I woke up I ran to that last piece of nicorette I have. I know I shouldn't use gum on the patch but dang...I needed it.

There is something wrong with these patches. I have been smoking on them, and in the morning I even got a buzz! I shouldn't be getting a nicotine buzz when on a 21 mg patch. In fact, when I stopped smoking last time, I was smoking almost twice as much and all I got was sick when I smoked off the patch!

So...instead of b!tching and moaning and continuing to smoke, I went to the store and paid cash for the two mg nicorette yesterday. I am using that for my breakthru cravings.

Spending cash for a cigarette substitute? Never thought I'd see the day.

I'm not sure I understand the patch thing either. I have had extremes with one on as well.
The only thing I can come up with is smoking gives you a "dose" all at once, rather than spreading it out. It doesn't matter how much I "need" a day, it matters that I'm satisfied at the moment, and that moment was every puff, ya know?
I was thinking of going patch free, rather than going to step three. (I started with 14 MG)
This ain't easy, I tell ya.

Never had this problem before, I think its the generic they gave me.

I started smoking last time when I went off step 3 too quickly, I would recommend you step down first before you step off. That's just my ESH though.

Not needing as much gum, the patches finally got a good blood level going. I am on day three without a single cig and feeling okay. This is my important day as its usually the day I fall apart emotionally when I have quit in the past. I think knowing that going in is helping.

I went out this week and treated myself to a couple nice pairs of jeans. I feel good about that.
