Ok ... day ONE again ...

yep.

I caved.

I'm not a big excuse giver -I just caved. It was two this afternoon, and I had to get some sleep - and I knew wht would help. and it did. only half a cigarette (coffin nail) and sure enough - out like a light.

So - tomorrow is day ONE for me again.

I knew it was going to be this way.
I've been smoking WAAAAAYYY longer than i ever drank.

Chewie - I think you're right -
along with Kev and NotSleeping Well.
I can't have 'em around.
So I put the pack in my neighbor's mailbox.
She wasn't home. They're her brand.

Thing is - I don't really 'want' another one.
I was worried that it was going to be like drinking -
you have one and it's a craving hell awakened/veritable avalance/damburst of smoking or something ... but nah.
Just the half a smoke ... then sleep.

Not real thrilled with me right now -but I'm glad I've done the twelve steps once, and can sorta let it go into the 'experience' file and move on more determined.

Lesson learned.

Kev - how was YOUR day? how about you, NotSleepinWell?
Chewie - i'm going over to check out your link.

thanks guys.

honesty ... it the ONLY policy.

Each time we try, Barb, we learn something that will helkp us on our quit for good.
You've learned you can't have them around. Neither could I.
Putting them in the neighbor's mailbox might just be the ticket for you!

Keep the quit and post before you puff.

Shalom!

1 day, 18 hours for me. Mother of God...I didn't even intend to quit actually!! Not that it's easy. You know, when I decided, I stopped at the drug store and picked up this inhaler thang. I thought, I can't do this with will power alone, cause I don't have any...lol.

My friend told me to get rid of all the ashtrays, lighters, cigarettes etc..to make it very difficult to have a cigarette. So if I want one, I hafta get in the car, drive....etc., etc.

Hey listen to me..the pro...lol...only been quit 1 day...lol.

Anyway, Barb....we can do this...doesn't matter how many times you start....as long as you keep quitting...means you really wanna!!

barb you have two choices:
1. smoke and experience nicotine withdrawal every day
2. don't smoke and after 72 hours never experience nicotine withdrawal again

Your choice.

Barb...it's a nicorette inhaler....to help you quit...a plastic gizmo...looks like a cig....you stuff it with these nicotine things....can use it as often or as little as you like. Comes with a plastic storage case, kinda like a plastic pack...I seem to like the ritual of opening things...taking out this gizmo and puffing...

I went to the drug store to find something to help me, cause I thought...I can't do this alone. Saw this inhaler thang...and so far doing good with it. The bonus part...is you can use it anywhere, anytime...the no smoking policy doesn't apply to this

So now, I have lunch at work..and puff away discreetly in a corner of the room...

gotta love it

I have been quit for 2 Days, 9 hours, 1 minute and 4 seconds (2 days). I have saved $18.99 by not smoking 59 cigarettes. I have saved 4 hours and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 25/09/2007 11:30 AM

sorry to hear about your hardship barb - but glad to see that you're back on the horse. the only day in a quit that's any more important than another is day 1. never quit quitting.

don't worry about the concept of forever. i chewed for over 6,000 days... thinking about NEVER dipping again is still a pretty tragic thought for me.

i've only been quit for one day now... but i've strung togehter 432 of those "one day quits" to get me where i am now.

PS - let me know what you think of that article!

chewie - 432 days clear of kodiak
