I Want A Smoke

My job is going down the tubes and my life isn't much better at this point.
I will be a 2 year ex-smoker this October and I've never wanted a smoke more in my life. I know if I do, I'll hate myself even more, but boy could I go for one.

Why throw 2 years of non smoking (poisening) down the tube? It will only make you feel good for a minute. Keep the big picture, your health formost in your mind. I'd love to be where you are. all the best

Lavander,
I think we probable all know that feeling.
When we're all stressed out, it's the easiest thing in the world to do to go back to that which normally comforts us; that which stood by us all those earlier times.

Oh, there's been times I want a cigarette sooooo badly, I could taste it!

But, I know I *really* don't want it.
I really want a relief from whatever is ailing me.

So, what's bothering you?

For me, it is ALWAYS a matter of doing something different. It's a behavior that changes that changes the urges, cravings and desires, even if it's only for a short while. That's what does it for me.

What has worked for you in the past?

Get back to us and let us know how it's going. We care...
And remember to keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!

Lavender,
Yep, I know how you feel right now too!!! Been there SOOO many times!!! You've worked too hard to be smoke free for 2 years to give in to a "pity party". Not saying that you are having a pity party; I know my brain, with all that stuff going on, would be saying poor Jen, poor Jen...smoke, drink?!?! Can't afford to go there. Instead, turn it around and look at all the positives in your life; all the things that are going right!!! A gratitude list. Those really help me out in a pinch. It's hard to want to do something "bad" for me when I'm full of gratitude for the good things going on in my life. Oh yea, congratulations...you told on yourself!!! That is SOOO huge. Telling on your thoughts sure does help a lot....

Blessings and keep the quit,
Jen
