Ok here I am.

First time quitter here, I am a complete monster without my smokes.
I smoked my last one about 2 hours ago and took a Chantix for the first time about an hour and a half ago. Being on the computer will prove to be the toughest to not smoke.
I am so tired of feeling like someone is standing on my chest. I have inhalers coming out my ears and hate waking up in the middle of the night hacking like I just inhaled a bug in my sleep. Thats what it feels like to me. And it is so unattractive to strat hacking your nasty phlem up in public. EWWW!!!
Well I am trying for the first time.
Hope I can do it.

Good luck chiynita. I quit Jan 1. I can tell you that the cravings will subside. You will not smell of smoke anymore. Your fingers won't smell of smoke. Your taste buds will work better. You won't have that anxiety that you have got to smoke this minute. You won't have to keep having thoughts of despair that you are giving yourself cancer. You will live longer. And your skin will look better.

My worst times are when I'm with good friends who smoke. Man, makes me want one too. But, it's not worth it. I've learned if I pick one up, I'm back to smoking again. I love it when I'm doing it, but don't miss it much at all when I'm not. Good luck to you. The first week will be the worst. I used the patch. Made my arm feel like it just smoked after I'd put it on.

Good luck with it - I wanna quit too.

Tried patches - make me feel terrible so I rip them off - then I smoke

Gum tastes horrible and doesn't work fast enough for me

Will Power is not there right now (5 months sober)

Again, good luck

Don't be hard on yourself. Just do the one day at a time mental stuff. Its been 2yrs, 2 months, and just keep the faith. I did it with the patch. Husband has quit for over a month. Started with Chantix, along with the patch. Did Chantix for 2 weeks and wasn't feeling too good. So, is doing the patch. So far so good. I'm very proud of him and hope that this is the time. Just keep at it. You will do it. Good luck.
