How many times?

I have read and heard from several sources that one never quits smoking on their first try, is that true and how many times is the magic number? I decided to try to quit recently and failed after 24 hours. i have some patches and gum that i used. I do have a rx for chantix but $$$ is a problem at the time.

personally, i tried to quit dipping for about 4-5 years, but never really seriously. when i finally found a support system (similar to this one, but located at forum.killthecan.org) i was successful.

quitting dip/cigs comes down to a daily decision... not trying to make it sound easy, cause that daily decision is sometimes nearly impossible to make, but it's just that simple.

i love the following saying... it's gotten me through many days....

"dipping (smoking) is suicide on an installment plan"

it's all up to the person and how bad they want it.

this is true... you can't quit for anyone else, it's got to be a personal decision.
