| Kind of new..
I am new to this forum, all of my other posts have been on the friends and family of alcoholics board. Since I have met so many great people there, and gotten so much help, I thought I should try this one as well. I'm 20, been smoking for 2 years, and started because of my ex. I miss not smoking, and I miss smelling like a girl instead of cigarettes. How do I make the best of this message board?

Welcome 4Leaf! I am kind of new to this forum myself but I'm sure others will be along to reply soon! Good for you for making this decission so young! I really wish I would have wised up at that age and quit!! I would be alot healthier and wealthier today for sure!! Have you already quit completely or still thinking about it? There are several posts at the top of this forum to help you along the way! Best of luck, Jane

Hi 4Leaf...welcome to our nice smelling area... Many of us "check in" at the daily check in. It's a great place to keep accountable. I find for myself, it's also good to "tell on myself". If I have a craving...a desire...a thought...whatever, it's good for me to tell on myself...therefore, I'm not secretly trying to hide it. I smoked from 15-32. I took off probably a total of 2 years in there for pregnancy and attempts at quiting. Most of my attempts didn't last long; mostly because I wasn't sick and tired enough. Being smoke free is possible and a great way to live, for sure. I really enjoy being free from nicotine today..but I also miss it at times too. The first few weeks are really hard...but the more obstacles you overcome the easier it is to just say, no to nicotine. I've had a whole lotta help from my HP, thankfully. A day at a time...should I make it 10 more days without smoking; I will celebrate 1 year!! That just amazes me!!! Welcome to our forum....If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!! Blessings, Jen |

Hey 4leaf I quit a few days ago. Do it girl! You dont have to "miss" not smoking. Consider yourself a non smoker and you will be. It's a waste of life and money.

Hello! I am new to this forum too, but I wanted to share that quitting is about winning and I am celebrating 4 years of freedom this June!!!! Not only have I save $40 per week, but I have enjoyed the freedom of not being a voluntary victim in a corporate scam to make profits off of people's weakness. I celebrate my leaving those butts behind and want to encourage you make some vacation plans with all the money and time you'll save in being freed from the smoking slave ship!!!! Let's all pat ourselves on our backs and stick our tongues out at the corporate giants who are all diversifying now that we're quitting in droves!!! Chartien |
