Hi mec!

I know for me, its a decision every day that Im not smoking. Its definately not easy! I wear the patch and its helped alot! Ive slipped a couple times, but thats ok, I get right back on track. The desire to quit and tools to do it are the keys for me!

mec,
If you're stilll around, please read the stickies above, on the top of this forum. Then, read the daily check in and other posts here on the forum.
Here's what worked for me, personally:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...s-my-quit.html (Tips from my Quit)
The only difference is that I am now One year, one month, two weeks, three days, 23 hours, 44 minutes and 10 seconds smoke free. That's 16519 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,542.88. Life saved: 8 weeks, 1 day, 8 hours, 35 minutes.
And it's all because of the behavioral changes I made.

Hope this helps!
Shalom!

Way to go mec...i know its hard to not think about smoking the first week or so..for me it was impossible..but that is not what matters...what matters is that you get through the day and don't pick up.

It does get easier..believe it or not.

I'm into my third week now and can say that each day gets easier. Just hang in there and concentrate on not smoking today.

I have found it helpful to keep my mouth busy by sucking on peppermints and even better dum dum's because they satisfy that hand to mouth action. The American Cancer Society smoking cessation classes I went through suggest sucking on cinammon sticks to give your mouth something to do or chewing coffee stirrers or sucking through straws.

Hope some of this helps! Hang in there and keep posting! You can do this!

Hugs,
Kellye

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 21 hours, 23 minutes and 55 seconds (16 days). I have saved $59.11 by not smoking 337 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 4 hours and 5 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 11:30 PM
