| Midnight, the patch, and pretty good.
The questions? When did I become a nonsmoker? Am I using anything to help me along? How am I feeling? Yep, I'm brushing my teeth alot, drinking vast quanities of H2O, and kind of edgy, but that will pass. I know there's better things to pray for, but please say a little itty bitty prayer for me, okay? Thanks,

YEA, Moose!!! ![]() So glad you're here with us! ![]() I'll say a GREAT BIG OLE PRAYER for ya, gurl! LOL! You KNOW I will! It's all in the behaviors, if you ask me, which you didn't but, I know that question is coming, so I answered it before you could ask, lol! Whew! That was a mouth full! LOL! Just keep doing something different. And post in the daily check in thread. It helped me to be accountable, ya know. And today, I'm One year, one month, three days, 12 hours, 54 minutes and 18 seconds smoke free. That's 15941 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,383.91. Life saved: 7 weeks, 6 days, 8 hours, 25 minutes. Remember to keep the quit and post before you puff! ![]() Shalom!

Hi and welcome! I quit at 11:30 last night so we are in the same boat. I'd love to be a source of encouragement and support for you and vice versa! If you haven't done so yet get you a quit keeper for your computer. It is so cool. My stats are below: I have been quit for 22 hours, 10 minutes and 46 seconds (0 days). I have saved $3.22 by not smoking 18 cigarettes. I have saved 1 hour and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 11:30 PM Hugs, Kellye

YEA, MOOSE!!!! ![]() You can do this... Coughing is your body's way of healing from the damage we've done to it. I'm a bit worried, cuz, I'm still coughing after having pnemonia three weeks ago! Still on a stronger antibiotic; stronger inhalor, and the codine cough med, (I won't take the other one that makes me stoned anymore. The codine is now doing what it's supposed to do. I guess that means I'm getting better...sorta....kinda....eh..._) But, I guess I've done permanent damage, adn this is the price for smoking 36 years. But, it's not getting any WORSE, right? ![]() Moose, are you doing any long term behavioral changes? I found the chorus and the gym very helpful in keeping me on the right path. And short term behavioral changes for everyday dealings. What have you found helpful? Keep the quit and post before you puff! Shalom!

Well Teach, I haven't really done any behavoral changes as of yet. We'll be in Florida for 2 1/2 months starting January 29th, and I won't smoke in the car...(that's a good thing) and I'll be real busy when down there. But, I'm still drinking my tea, and all that. Doesn't seem to be bothering me too much at all. I just know I really have to quit and stay "quitted" I can't afford them, besides being sick of the smell, hacking, and all that goes along with it. I'm staying quit. Today, I have about 2 instances of craving but I drank a ton of water, and they passed without problem. I'm not coughing hardly at all today. Hugs, and peppermint breath. If you have good ideas, let me know...

Going to FL is going to be a G*D send to your quit, I think, Moose. I was told to, and I DID, move furniture around in the house; drive the car a different way to work; hold the phone in a differrent hand; brush teeth right after eating; drink tea instead of coffee....and many other small behavioral changes. It also helped that I moved just prior to my quit, so it was all new anyway, lol! ![]() The purpose of these changes is to keep us mindful of what we're doing. That cuts down on the automatic reaches for the butts. We are always conscious of what we're doing. I honestly think that helped me. Today, I am One year, one month, four days, 13 hours, 55 minutes and 28 seconds nicotine free. That's 15983 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,395.38. Life saved: 7 weeks, 6 days, 11 hours, 55 minutes. And I really think it's because of the behavioral changes I made -- both long term and short term. ![]() Keep the quit and post before you puff! Shalom!
