| Just passed my hardest day
My third day is always my hardest when I try to quit. I get emotionally freaked and my frustration tolerance, especially for noise, is so small this period . is probably 10 times bigger. There has been a lot of stress the last few days but I've done it. Since I had a back bill to pay I won't have money to buy cigs on the 17 which is usually when I start up again, so I think all is well. Still using the gum BTW. However, I was supposed to get my patches (that's how I quit last time) but the pharmacy and doctor screwed up the basic forms. Dr. writes RX and sends in the certificate I got Tuesday. Instead it took til Friday for the pharmacy to realize its the doc that is supposed to fax the stuff over to the insurance (its auto approved when they receive the certificate and rx). The gum, unlike the patch in the past, has been causing me to wake up early, way earlier than normal. That leads to lower frustration tolerance, as well as being totally exhausted with 6hours sleep average. In general I need 9. School has been tough and I'm just zoning through it from the exhaustion. I hope the patches come through soon. Either way, I have made it past the 3rd day, the one where my emotions fly. YEAH for me!

I'll buy some of that licorice tomorrow Midas. Thanks for the heads up. I wish I could take wellbrutrin but it won't mix with my other anti-D. I was able to taper off my DOC but cigs, no way. They have a much stronger hold than any other drug.

My doctor gave me wellbutrin, but I have really not noticed it doing ANYTHING! I almost wonder if he gave me a placebo or something.... sigh.....I am probably just one of those people who don't get the "smoke free" side effect! |

Great job, Alera! ![]() You're sailing through Hell Week with flying colors. The first few weeks, my sleep was disturbed. I think that may be normal. Also, you may experience smoking dreams. I did multiple times, and hated them! But, just keep doing the next right thing. You can do this! We're with you all the way. And don't forget to check into the daily check in thread. It helps to be held accountable. ![]() Keep the quit and post before you puff! Shalom!

Great job, Alera. Yea, I had a hard time sleeping for a few weeks. Then as my body exhausted it became easier and easier to sleep. I had so much energy from not smoking I really had to work hard to exhaust myself. I exercised A LOT!!! Great job, keep up the great work!!! Wounded- wellbutrin isn't a drug that you get immediate effects with...it takes about 4 weeks before the full effects are felt. It was probably 3 weeks after taking it before I noted the desire to smoke lessened. Keep the quit though! Positive self talk has gotten me a lot further than this drug did. Great job all!!! Keep it up!!! Jen Jen - Free and Healing for Six Months, Twenty Nine Days, 7 Hours and 41 Minutes (212 days!), while extending my life expectancy 22 Days and 2 Hours, by avoiding the use of 6370 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $1,137.32. |

Got a craving now but its passing even as I type. I am just reminding myself to post instead of smoke. Day 2 on the patch is working out well. However, I am craving the peaks and valleys of the nicotine I got with the gum. I am chewing regular bubble gum and it makes my body think I'm still doing the gum. I actually got a buzz from the double bubble!
