| Something that helps my cravings...
I am trying to quit again, this is about my 7th attempt. I am 6 months pregnant and am having a really hard time quitting, but I am not giving up. I quit cold turkey the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child and like an idiot I went back. Due to some stressors in my life I have chose to keep up the nasty habit to "help get me through" but I know how terribly unfair it is to my unborn child so i am not giving up. I have been smoke free for only 4 days but have found that whenever I get a craving I drink some Cranberry juice. I replace a gigarette with a tall glass of cranberry juice with ice. I read somewhere that this helps and not only am I eating everything in sight it is very helpful. I smoke when I am bored and stressed out, so for me the key to quitting is finding things to replace the cigarettes with. Just thought I would share the info, I have tried a lot of things, gum, suckers, pretzels, lifesavers, etc. and nothing has worked as well as the cranberry juice has. Just an FYI. |

Thanks for sharing that tip! I know cinnamon has a very good reputation as a replacement for cigs and it actually does help calm the craving. I used cinnamon gum, cuz I didn't like the sticks -- too much like a real cigarette for my liking. :andy: Good luck with your quit. Check in on the daily check in and hold yourself accountable. That honestly helped me in the beginning. ![]() Keep the quit and post before you puff! Shalom!
