Thumbs up Shout Out for Cece and SoberNVa

Cece and SoberNVa;

You BOTH are so inspiring!

I am in awe of you both for quitting on 9/11; that day alone would have made quitting anything impossible for me! My anxiety heightens along with my sorrow on that day of infamy.

But, you two are doing it! Each day, making another step.
Here's some tips from my quit; I hope it helps:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...s-my-quit.html (Tips from my Quit) I hope it can help you on your journey.

Oh, and btw, I am now Nine months, two weeks, two days, 14 minutes and 53 seconds nicotine free. That's 11520 cigarettes not smoked, saving $3,178.65. Life saved: 5 weeks, 5 days, 0 minutes.

Keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!

Whoa whoa wait Teach....
Before we strike up the band, I have to report that I have smoked my "2" previously reported "allowed cigs" each day.
One in the morning before I leave for work, one before bed.
This was my original plan, becasue it worked well for me a few years ago.
I no longer smoke at work, which is where I spend 10 hours a day if you include the commute.
Monday was rough, Tues, Wed and so far today, not so bad at all. I haven't used the gum since Monday and the patch isn't for me.
Soon this will be routine and I can tackle the two lingering.
So...not quite sure I qualify for any real quit date...just trudging along doing my best.
My best and biggest congrats to those who put the darn things down completly...awesome!

Cece, I think if you are able to only smoke 2 a day that is wonderful!!! Progess right? I bet you useally smoked a lot more than that! You will give them up when you can. Be careful though! Addiction is a sneaky thing,it wants us back to using large amounts and will trick us. If you are able to keep it to jsut those 2 a day for now, then wonderful!! Im glad you are still around and posting!

To be honest,it didnt occur to me that was what i was doing . I did realize what day it was,but I avoided the coverage of the events,I just cant deal with it. Maybe some day, but its just too overwhelming to thing about the horror and misery of what happened on that day. My heart goes out to all who suffered on that day.

Cece - did I tell you about our guy at work?

He "quit" YEARS ago... but he allows himself ONE cigarette a month.

He marks the date on his calendar, he takes a walk in the evening around the lake and smokes his danged cigarette. I can't imagine quitting his way... but it has worked for him for years!!

Whatever works... works!

Sending loving prayers for success.

Thanks guys...I'll keep you posted on progress, but it is unfair to be listed with the quitters just yet.
BigSis...I think I understand exactly what he feels.
