Unhappy I broke...

Hi
I will admit I broke. I bought a pack last week and am slowly smoking them. I pulled off the 10 steps to relapse and I did a few of those.
So I need to go back to square one now. Again.
Sucks.

Hi Erin,
just curious, are you using anything to help you quit? I have cut down lately on how many I have, but don't seem to get any further than that!

You'll get there!! good luck!!

Hi
I went for about a week and I've been smoking two a day. I have two left in the pack but I've thrown them out.

I'm taking Zyban which has helped. I was using the gum but stopped last week. I'm going to get some more. I have to work this week and don't want to go through complete withdrawals.

I think it's psychological. It's my last and longest remaining vice. I started smoking at 16 I think to deal with social anxiety and general anxiety and I've just never stopped. I noticed hanging out with friends is hard after awhile without smoking is hard and they are all non-smokers.

Oh man.

I've read that the majority of it is psychological - which I think is what makes it so hard.
I took a course on quitting at the detox once and quit for 6 weeks. Then my son was hospitalized for RSV and I started again. Now that makes a lot of sense. d'uh
also, it's funny that in our mind we say we smoke to relax.....
nicotiene is a stimulant. Our minds do funny things....
best of luck to you - I'll keep checking to see how you are getting along - and hopefully follow your lead. (no pressure)
interested to see if you have any luck with the Zyban - my friend did, but I've never tried it.
cheers

Thanks. I'm trying.

It's actually a bummer to start again. Especially because there's really no point.

Zyban is actually good. You don't physically crave smoking. It's the mental thing. Have a tough day - smoke etc.

I remember the first time I smoked and the first pack I bought at 16. I promised myself I'd quit before turning 31. Well I'm turning 32 in a mo. So now I have too.

I'm a bit depressed by it.

Thanks for the support!!!

well I started about 14
but I turned 32 in April - so how about this
by the time we turn 33, we will both be long-time non-smokers and will scowl at the smokers outside their offices huddling in the cold. lol
deal?

I don't smoke at work. I smoke at home or socializing. So my cigs are my crutch!!!

When are you planning on quitting??
