need suggestions

how do i quit smoking when all my freinds smoke. i try the patch but see the msmoking and have to have one. i have 3 freinds the manager of the apartments and freind and his mom besides them the only people i see are my wife. so any helps?

I too quit with lots of people I know still smoking -- specifically those people in my family! It's not easy, but, it's doable!

Read the stickys above on the forum. And the posts here too. Be prepared to check in every day, so that you can be held accountable. And change behaviors. Oh, heck, I'll give you this post I did a while back. Hope it helps!

I quit smoking 23 years and 10 months ago, about two days after I quit drinking. Desperation has it's rewards. I just wanted change badly enough, and was willing to go to any lengths.

It's good to learn about it, and know what you're up against. My favorite trick was to break down and have a cigarette and then give myself a hard time about it--but unlike drinking, cutting down can be an intermediate step that lessens the craving. These days there are support groups like Nicotine Anonymous. Being around people who are going through the same thing certainly helps.
