My husband just read my other post about my scariest blackout. He knew it was me because Garsh is an obvious nickname. I hadn't told him about that blackout because he was out of town at the time, and I wasn't at a point where I was ready to quit drinking. I just told him the whole story, along with all the other times I blacked out, the times I hid my drinking from him, the guilt and agony I went through on a daily basis. I think he was a little shocked. I am a professional woman at the top of my field- no one would suspect I have a problem. I guess we get very good at denial and hiding the truth.

Well, I'm glad he knows the whole story, because I think he will be able to empathize a little more regarding how difficult staying sober can be.

I am sure that you felt like you were hiding your problem but, please do not think that there were not some who saw things being out of whack and that now see a change for the better. The codies in our lives are often more in denial than we are. I hope your H is getting some help too....
