Ok here is the deal. I never had any intention of talking about this on here before but since I found something that has helped I thought I'd share it. I am a cutter. I was real bad when I was with my ex who is on crack. When I had my son I forced myself to quit but it was a nagging thing ALWAYS in the back of my head espcially when I'd be under stress. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to hold back forever. Well anyways I read on here where some were taking topamax for weight and I talked to my doc who was more than happy to give it to me because she was looking for a mood stabilizer to go with my Lexapro (I've never told her about the cutting she just finds me a little hyper who knew huh?). Already I have no desire what so ever to cut. It's like it's gone. Right now I'm on the lowest dose but I will be working up each week. But still at the lowest dose it's like I had a brain transplant and the thought has been zipped from my head...it is soooo weird. Then there's Wellbutrin..to help quit smoking...they make cigarettes taste like azz...but I smoke through the taste and fried food taste like azz too. I haven't quit smokin but I won't eat fried food |

Oh ok...I know if you was like me the Lexapro makes you eat like crazy. The Lexapro worked great though for my depression but I was still real I guess you could say hyper or agitated....topamax fixed that overnight. But make sure you find out about all the side affects you could experience ...there are some wing dingers |

Topomax is a seizure medicine that has been used some off label for weight loss. It is also used some for as mood stabilizers to go alongwith other depressants. In my case it worked out well because the Lexapro was making me want to eat more(which I didn't need) and the topamax also helped stabilize my moods ( helped keep them from going up and down) |
