Lightbulb New Comer

I have attended AA meetings with my sponsor, needing to do that some more. Instead of alcohol, I seem to have turned to drugs. Stupid girl, is all that I can say. I do not know what to do now, or who to turn to, feeling very lost and alone.

Hi Verdie,

Welcome to SR

Maybe have a talk to your sponsor and keep going to meetings and coming back here.

Welcome to SoberRecovery, Verdie! Don't do drugs. Drugs are bad. I agree with nogard.

And don't do drugs.

fill the void

WELCOME TO SR!!!
You need to find out what it is that is creating the void that you are trying to fill. You can cut off the top of the weed (your addiction and alcoholism) and it will always grow back. If you pull the weed out by the root (what's causing your void) it has less of a chance of resurfacing...
Take care, and keep coming back. It works if you work it! (the program)

Welcome Verdie...i dont think you are stupid....swapping addictions is a common thing that us addicts and alcoholics do. Great that you recognised it and brilliant that you came here wanting to address it. Well done you i say. You will get much support on this board.

Warmest wishes
Evanna.
