| Fell off again.
I messed up again. I was able to last a few days hanging out with my friends and not smoking but when I went down yesterday I was unable to resist. I don't know why I put myself in that situation thinking that I could be strong enough. I want to be done with them but it's hard because I recently moved and I don't really know anyone else. I looked for NA meetings in the area but I still haven't had any luck. Here's to day 1 again...

Have you tried looking for AA in the area? It maybe that if NA is thin on the ground where you are that there will be other addicts using AA. Best wishes Evanna.

Don't feel like because you sliped and smoked again that all of your previous efforts are lost. You did a lot of work and should be commended. Take a good look at why you used this time and what changes you can make in your behavior so that next time you are in a similar situation you can make a better choice. Don't beat yourself up too much. You had a slip, I'd wager to say that 98% of the people on these boards have slipped at one time or another. That doesn't mean you have to throw away everything you have learned and accomplished to this point, it just means you have some new information to build on so next time will be easier. Take care brother. You can do this. Peace, Tyler

It is not in the falling down but the getting up that matters. You have learned something from the days that you were clean and that is in your bank now. This experience served as experience for you and one day, this experience just might be the one thing that another person needs to hear about. Nothing happens without purpose. You will help someone one day due to this. Stay strong and keep moving forward. Try AA meetings if there aren't any NA. You'll make sober friends here who will be clean right by your side. Thoughts are with you this evening friend, Hope |

No one said this is easy, just pick your self up and start again, get rid of your so-called friends, if youn want to stop and thier still doing it in front of you then these people are NOT your friends, friends will help you. . . . . friendship is about helping with others weaknesses NOT rubbing thier faces in it. . . this is life and death stuff and it could be your life and death. . . . be strong, be safe, and get well, were all pulling for you my friend

Hi Mad, If you are interested in quitting your addiction permanently, there is an interesting part of the Rational Recovery website that can help you do just that. It's called the Internet Crash Course. Visit www.rational.org It takes like fifteen minutes, and can totally change your perception on addiction. Best to you, India |

True friends will support you in your recovery and your decisions to stop using. If your friends try to pressure you back into using, they are not your real friends. Better friends are out there to be found. Wishing you the best today, Hope |
