| Woke up sober!
I am just glad that I woke up sober this morning. I woke up next to my Australian Sheperd, Callie, and she kicks when she dreams!, so not such a good night's sleep. But it is so much better than waking up and saying, "Oh, what did I do." I am so glad that the sun is shining, but damn, I'm getting tired of the snow in New Jersey! Have a great day all! Richard

Good morning from the opposite coast, Richard! I woke up clean and sober with two dogs snuggled next to me. I love to start my day with puppy kisses and tummy rubs (for the dogs, that is ). It's warm but really foggy here. The trees look ghostly and the silence is loud. Beautiful! phinny

Woke up here too. Overcast. Gloomy, except for the fact I am *#_@#% sober! What a joy!

Oh yes How nice it is to wake up sober. Thank you for the reminder. A great day to live and not just exist. My Boxer (Boo Boo) has taken to sleeping downstairs lately, she has a bed down there, which stangely enough, is what all the women in my life ended up doing when I was drinking !! ![]() much love JC

Amen to that....waking up sober is absolutely wonderful, not sick, no shame or regrets. Lots of snow here and cold. I was outside at 3am with my little dog...not complaining one bit, it was beautiful out, full moon shining so bright, the snow was sparkling like I've never seen it before....yep sober is the way to go...wouldn't have noticed that sick and hungover. Thanks for the reminder also.

Woke up sober this morning, and so very thankful. Came very close last night to making a big mistake. But made good decisions and so waking up this morning knowing that I am sober felt SO good! I used to have a dog who would "run" in his sleep (lie on his side and move his legs back and forth as if he were running after something). Sometimes he would even bark (sort of a soft, sleep bark). Just wondered what he was dreaming about. Chasing a car? Chasing a cute poodle?

I love waking up sober! I actually wake up way before noon everyday and am hungry for--gasp--breakfast! No headache, no nausea or diarrhea, no guilt and shame. Just enjoying the morning sun (when it wants to come out, that is) and having quiet time with God. Thanks for the reminder! No matter how crappy the weather, at least you feel good!

I woke up this moringing sober, with the phone ringing in my ear. Someone always seems to call and wake me on the days I'm able to sleep in. But that's OK. I remember the days when I'd try to fake not being in a fog from drinking the night before. The " I must act normal and not hungover" act would kick in. Try to hide the wiskey voice, the missing memories, confusion and guilt. I don't have to do that anymore. Thank goodness. What a relief to know there is a solution.

I had a client who would always answer my question of "how are you?" with, "Great, I woke up!" That's a saying we all should start the day, and take the day that God gave us to live up to our potential. Oh, to awake sober and really live a life for another day, could it get any better?
