Congrats on day 4 Brenda! That's great! Free time is really hard, this time around I've made a list with things I can do instead of drinking, I hope that will help! My best to you!

Welcome to the thread KMO816 and Verona, you can do it!

Home time here at last. This afternoon has been torture on top of which some trainee called me "blud" Using heroic self restraint I politely corrected him. I'm a grandad not a teenager.

I don't know that word.

This is an ongoing theme between sao and I, though.

Welcome new people.

I'm cooking some garbanzo beans right now for some homemade hummus. I've been making everything from scratch lately, it's so much better! Mmmm.

It's sunny here and I may have to get out. Beachbeachbeach.

Blud or Blood means "my friend" or similar. Fine for teenagers but not grumpy old men like me.

biminiblue this goes both ways, I had to Google Garbanzo Beans. We call them Chickpeas *

* because hummus is mostly eaten by women

I like that term, a soberist.

Hi and Welcome KM0816 and Verona post, post, post, let us know how your doing.....

biminiblue - I love hummus I eat it like every second day. Use to make it myself too. Been along while. I can't make as good as the store bought stuff tho. Need better gadgets.

Dentist was not too bad, really good considering I hadn't been in 7 years. I have a filling that needs redoing and they are finally going to pull my wisdom tooth (I only had one come thru) as it has a cavity. I have to go back for that.

I thought the sugar cravings were subsiding but this last week I've been Craving (with a capital 'C') chocolate. I just ate a whole lindt bar. (Caramel and sea salt).

Anyways, still at work, it's quitt'n time. Chat at you later....

Like bimini and yourself I make my own, I don't blend it for long so mine comes out more rustic than the super smooth supermarket version. I also prefer more lemon juice than standard.

A blinding last 3 holes saw me finish runner up by only a single shot at Crazy Golf. One of my friends, who once owned a microbrewery, has quit drinking though in his case it is for blood pressure and weight reasons rather than excess consumption.

Well I only had one lemon and I used a lot of chickpeas, so I ended up adding some balsamic vinegar and some extra water to smooth it out, that worked nicely - in my $50 food processor that I hardly ever use, STD. Pretty simple, about 1/3 the price of the prepared stuff and I think mine is better. (Of course.) I even used bagged dried chickpeas. I'm so domestic.

Congrats on Second Place. One stroke. That could be an accounting error.

Mecanix, this was HUGE for me after I finished rehab. I was just certain I had all but destroyed my liver. When I was still drinking, I was constantly looking in the mirror to see if my eyes or complexion looked yellow, constantly Googling "signs of liver damage" to see if I had any. It turned out I wasn't nearly as bad off as I suspected.

It will be a huge load off of your mind when you either get a clean bill of health, or know what you need to do to get one.

Boy.. as I browse around more threads than usual today, it's a harsh world out there. A lot of what people intend to sound like tough love (that's the nicest way I could term it) actually comes across really cold.

I think that's just your take on it. These forums are the kindest and gentlest of forums I've ever seen.

Or are you just stirring the pot/looking for drama again?

This ish is life-threatening or life-ruining, BC. It's not a game.

I'm not saying it's a game, I'm saying people ask for help and they are basically told they're being drama queens and difficult and not doing what they are told. Maybe I don't know their entire history but it makes me sad that they are responded to in that way.

So say something in the thread when you see it. Why come here to complain about it? If it was in your own thread, then reply.

Sometimes people are being drama queens. It's not a real attractive trait. Where was that said, exactly? You sure you aren't exaggerating?
