I'm not a very good joiner, but apparently my other degrees didn't teach me how to be sober...so I'd like to join this class. I am a long time monthly class failure. I'm giving it another try.

Thanks Dee for the link. I too am here to support and definitely need encouragement too. I manged to make it 5 days then fell apart, but only for the evening. I'm back to fight the fight some more.

I joined/made my first thread yesterday as I know this is the time for me to pack in the alcohol. It's going to be hard, I know that, but I just can't carry on this way.

Hi April team! I've caught up on the posts and am with you during this month too!

I have been a part of several classes, sometimes due to relapse and sometimes just for extra support. So I guess you could say I'm a chronic class participant.

SR has been a great place for me to gain support and strength!

Count me in the April class too! Haven't had a drink since the night of 3/31. Tonight will be the real test as my weeknight routine always involves several glasses of wine. It'll be a test but I know I can do it!

Just popping in from the May 2016 class. Great to have you here. I've joined on 27th May last year and I felt exactly the same as you feel now. Scared, uncertain, hopeful, desperate, you name it... but it will get better. SR and the great people on here were my support and I made friends along the way. Sobering up is the best thing I've done. Life without drink is wonderful. Hard to believe at the moment but it'll come. Read and write here, especially when you're feeling low, we're all here for each other.

It feels good to have others fight for the same goal. I'm glad to be a part of the April club and I'm glad you all chose to be here too.

Just checking in on Day 3. I feel pretty good...anxiety is setting in a bit, and I'm considering setting up an appointment with a doctor to try some anti-anxiety medication. I've had xanax on hand before, and it's a HUGE help when my anxiety really spirals out of control. Obviously it's not great to depend on an OTC drug to deal with anxiety, but at least it's better than alcohol.

For now I'm just happy to be sober and waking up in the morning WITHOUT a hangover. That is quite lovely.

Day 1 for me. Joined the August or Sept 2016 class, but I didn't stick to it. In a better place this time and getting my plan together. Going to a meeting, a little nervous about that. Only went to one in Sept 2016, so kinda feels like the first time again. Wishing everyone a great sober day with a smile on my face. I realize I have so much to gain or otherwise so much to lose. I'm picking the former
