Hello

Hello, I finally got the courage to join SR after being a long-time "lurker". I am14 months sober. I am very impressed by the fellowship and encouragement of the members here. I feel like I know some of you. As today is Thanksgiving here in th U.S., I thought it was a most appropriate time to express how thankful I am to be sober today! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi FormerWineGirl,

I too am a formerwinegirl and wine for me was the nectar of the Gods! No other drink gave me the same satisfaction as wine and it is with some sadness that I give it up. But then I remember the horror, shame, stupidity it brought me amongst other things and I relish the clear head I have today and I'm thankful.

Well done on your sober time, that's amazing, I'm sure you've got some good tips to share with us, anything welcome!

Yes foreverfuzzy, I know what you mean about the wine. It was My DOC, nothing else even came close. But somewhere along the line my "off" button broke and you know what they day about too much of a good thing. Wayyyy to much!

Congratulations on your sobriety! Well put foreverfuzzy. I look back at the stupid irresponsible fool I was, the selfish destructive way I acted and ugh I just cringe. Can't wait to join the 14 months sober club with you formerwinegirl

Big Welcome and Congrats on 14 months sober!!

I am also thankful NOT to be hungover this day after Thanksgiving. So nice to not be wondering what I said or did and/or regretting what I did remember.
