Basically what it means is that we like to have fun sometimes!!!! It is important to remind ourselves not to take ourselves too seriously. Especially in early recovery, addicts and alcoholics need to know that the fun in their life is not over. Hope this answers your question!

Hi Zen, I get confused too. I think people get to know each other and have fun sending messages back and forth(?) I figure that after awhile I'll catch on to what it all means. In the mean time, I guess I'll keep smiling too!! Love, Kit |

Well that was entertaining, if short lived. Thanks for the fun Jon.

Thank goodness! Back to reality. The karma thing was driving me crazy but you know what if you google the work karma there's a ton of forums that do this karma points thing. I'm not sure why though. Well, I kind of have an idea because when you get a karma point it seems to be about a particular post. Perhaps if people thought they were judged on how their posts make everyone feel (ie. Karma) they would be more considerate of how they choose their words as to not be offensive to anyone. Not that anyone here is ever offensive but you know :scratchch

I had to wonder how long it would have taken, before there would have been a large, heated debate, over karma points. :japanese: I suspect some would have been giving bad points over past run ins that ended with hard feelings. Call me a pessimist, but I caught a glimpse if it starting to happen already. Some are very sensitive and are easily offended or just plain vindictive and ego driven. Sorry... sad but true. I try to respect each and every opinion. My views are mine and yours are yours. So be it. That is something I can deal with. No pointing of fingers or trying to sway members to my side of the camp. I aim to be flexible, but remain firm on my beliefs, without the need to convince another. We are an eclectic group, as I would like it to remain. I prefer not to have some harmless fun cause unnecessary tension in the air. I personally found it fun and am not overly sensitive, perhaps a bit on the paranoid side, just trying to remain honest and state an intuitive feeling. By the way, while I'm on the subject, I did receive some bad karma on another thread yesterday....hmmmmm??? LOL. It was a harmless post... Oops, see what I mean. I guess that makes me the first to complain about getting bad karma points. I won't even go into how many boxes some had compared to others. LOL. Hmmmm again? Perhaps it was because of my corny jokes, :lame: perhaps something else. Oh well...life goes on. No need to worry about receiving bad karma points today. Unless this is another ploy by Jon and they will make another mysterious appearance later. Oh no, my paranoia is creeping in again. Oiy!!! I think you all are wonderful, really...I do!!! LOL. Diversity is a wonderful thing. Have a terrific day... Take care, Talia No it's not your eyes, corny is blurry. |
