People dying...
You know....I just realized that when people on SR die we really wouldn't know, right? They would just disappear. It's not like they could post & I'm sure family & friends wouldn't. :-(
I know it's a very sad thought but probably true! I've seen many people from AA relapse & die but you always hear about it b/c you knew them face to face.
There's a very dangerous "serial killer" that kills 2.5 million people worldwide each year and sickens millions more and it's called alcoholism.
Tonight I pray for all the SR members who may have lost their battle with alcoholism and for all the ones still fighting.
Good night all. Tomorrow is a new day!

I know of two members who have died while I have been here. One was CarolD, and here helpful posts will be saving lives for years to come. She had befriended members here and was in touch with them outside the forum, so we know of CarolD's passing.
The other was Ncognito13, whose brother posted a thread:

I've been around SR for quite a while. I've witnessed the death of many long-term RA's, to mom's who's children have died from the disease of addiction.
I've had my own share of losses, both from addiction and from other "health-related causes" that had nothing to do with addiction.
I've always shared my losses, no matter the reason, and I'm grateful for those who keep in touch with others and tell us when we have lost one of our own.
To me, it saddens me, but strengthens my recovery, no matter what the cause.
Life is short, it's up to us to make the best of it.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
