Have spent the past 5 days in my bed drinking wine. I can't do this anymore.

Do something to help yourself quit now. Go to an AA meeting. Call a sober friend. Ask your doctor for help in quitting. Start seeing a counselor. Any or all of these things, and other things, can help you quit but you've got to really want it yourself. You've got to put in the effort.

I kept going back to the bottle until I took wine off the table as an option.


I hope you will stop drinking before it kills you.

As uncomfortable as that might seem, it's nothing compared to what you've just been through.

Try18. I have a major problem with wine as well. Have drinken a bottle or more a night for many years now. Lately it has been worse. I'm so unhappy. Afraid to change but afraid to stay the same. I'm not healthy at all. Felt kindered that someone else mentioned wine. I have beers here, vodka, white wine, but I don't touch it. All my money and emotions go to red wine. Stuck in duck a cycle of trying to quit and failing every time. Withdrawal terrifies me.

How are you doing now?

Thankyou so much for the support. I wasn't much use today, have been sleeping on and off for most of it. Reached out to a friend in AA and he got a woman with good strong sobriety to phone me. Going with her to a meeting tomorrow. Didn't see a doctor today but think I'm through the worst of it, just got the night sweats and the shakes to look forward to. I couldn't keep much food down today but as the days gone on liquids are staying down which is good.

I never want to go through this again.
