3. Ignore the dismal relapse rates. You are creating your own success.
This one was so very important to me early on. I determined I'd be in the minority, that I wouldn't allow myself to relapse again. I credit this to attending an IOP for a 20-day program. It certainly felt dismal to be told to look around at those of us in the room, and that a large percentage of us would relapse. I looked at those peoples' faces, I thought about their stories and the things they'd shared, and it pained me to realize some of those kids (in their 20s) might not be alive at age 30 (I was 35 at the time).
I determined I'd be a success story.

98. Get extreme. Figure out what you need to do to stay sober…then double it and add ten. That’s how hard you have to push yourself.
