|  Hello! I'm a drug addict!!
I just want to introduce myself. I am now in recovery after many years of misuse of amphetimines. I have quit for short periods, but never seem to go over 2 weeks. None of my family or friends had a clue. My life had become a mess and after some severe circumstances I confessed all to my husband. He is a recovering alcoholic and hasn't drank for 13 years. He is active in AA. I have attended some excellant meetings with him and am currently reading the "Big Book". I don't think I'm alcoholic but his friend seem to think I'm alcoholic also. They have told me that I can do no alcohol, even though my main problem is drugs, which I haven't. I'm sure I have alcohol issues also as when I wasn't drugging, I would get up in the AM and drink. I would drink wine and take PM's in the evening to sleep. I am currently trying to change my life by lots of prayer to my higher power, and learning that I need to change me. I am currently clean and sober for 31 days and feel great. Currently I have no drug desire, but would LOVE a glass of wine, but keep praying to have that desire taken away. Welcome Pom!! Congrats!! Im Moontime and Im an addict too. NA is a one stop shop, we make NO distinction between substances. Alcohol is a drug, some call it Liquid Dope, I like that term. Welcome aboard!!
