After Health Issues Trying get Back To Normal
And realize I am still trying to learn what normal is. I may be retired but have plenty of work to do. I guess for me I guess recovery is a life time career.

It's almost like learning how to walk again from scratch. Fitz, behing retired provides you with time, I'm a single dad so today was not easy. My son is 6, so I'm taking some me time, posting here. I feel out of wind and overwelmed. But I'm sober ;-)
And I am hoping for the best for you. I told my judge give me the chance and I'll go straight from this courtroom to treatment. And I did though I relapsed later and went back into treament. Least I new the system and staff.
I wish I could do something like that but with the harsher laws I dont think that will happen. I am freakin' terrified. I sent in so much paperwork too proving what im doing to help myself...Im booked to go into an inpatient program in Dec and they know that and it didnt seem to make a difference.

Thanks Fitz. I know and am grateful I am still somewhat young to do this. Hope you health issues sort out. I feel for you everytime I see one of your post.

Just remember Recovery is a Journey, not a destination.
Windancer, your horses can do a lot to help you through your anxieties. Horses and dogs have helped me many times throughout my recovery, oh and a few sheep and goats. I always prefer to be with my animals than with humans. I have always been that way. In recovery I finally accepted that not only did I walk to a different drummer, but that it was A-OK that I did.
Love and hugs,

Laurie, I agree. i dont know where Id be without my horses. I adore them. I should post some pics in my profile. I specialize in behaviour issues in horses using natural horsemanship methods. I work with many rescues that are destined for slaughter otherwise.
Fitz, too bad you deleted that! You should start writing again!

I do, on SR and it the most important writing I do, at least for me. My dad was an artist and before he died he destroyed his works. Guess it runs in the family ythough I have a few of his water colors and copies of some of his books. He was a cartoonist with quite a sense of humor.
