I used to "need" sobriety, because: I was headed toward a slow death.

Now I "want" sobriety, because: I honestly enjoy living now!

The change is a wonder to behold. And what about YOU?

I used to need sobriety because I was causing unhappiness to my family and it is the only way to deal with life's issues. Now I want sobriety because I am free in my spirit and health and see how to stay that way.

I used to "need" sobriety, because: I needed to stop ruining myself.

Now I "want" sobriety, because: I want to live the best life I can!

At my 86 days, I'm actually finding it difficult to come up with a clear answer. This is a good exercise!

Ok, I used to need sobriety because I was breaking apart and failing mentally and physically. Now I want sobriety because I'm becoming more together and I'm seeing things a bit more clearly every day. Little by little!

i too needed it,,, tried it many different ways,,, but this time "I WANT IT" and for me thats a first,, and its working,, on day 16 now and feel mighty fine,,, loving having ME back,,, and so is my hubby and kids,,, ooeerr forgot how good making love is sober!!

I used to "need" sobriety because I couldn't stay over or travel with non drinkers or I would go into withdrawal.

Now I "want" sobriety because I am free to come and go as I please!

I used need sobriety because... I kept hurting the people closest to me (why that happened so often is beyond me now!)

But now I want sobriety because.... after 5 mos (today, yay) it is awesome to wake up and actually FEEL GOOD and be ready to handle the day ahead, instead of feeling bad just watchin the clock waitin for the liquor store to open.

I used to "need" sobriety because I was in trouble in every way because of my drinking. Now I "want" sobriety because things have gotten so much better as a result of not drinking and trying to examine the underlying issues that make me want to get so drunk all the time in the first place.
