Explained my addiction!! - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Alcohol baffles me and I was asked to explain my addiction to a friend I could quite get the words needed, but I was just making coffee and it became clear to me.

The Thought entered my head, I fancy a coffee I then thought how many coffees have I had today I then made the decision that I will be ok to have 1 more coffee today as I have only had 1, so I made the coffee and drank it and forgot about it completely!!

Now when it come to alcohol my thought process is totally different and is basically the opposite to how iam with coffee!!!

I hope that make sence I just needed to put it down in writing as understanding how my mind thinks around alcohol helps me!!

Read in the AA big book about obsession and compulsion. Regardless of your thoughts on AA there is some very good information

Cunning, baffling and powerful.

It's hard to put "insanity" in words that the normal folk understand ....
half the time I don't understand me.
