| 6 months.
It's my 6 month birthday! Yahoooo! This is the longest I've been sober since I was 13. Mind-boggling!! I was talking to one of my friends in recovery a couple of days ago, because I was having a hard time at the moment.. Falling into one of those negative holes where everything is a gd travesty.. (i've learned now to talk to someone when that's happening instead of just trying to ride it out).. Anyway.. During our conversation, I wondered if this is what I was going to be now.. This bipolar lady who has awesome days just turn upside down with a "click" of my brain switch. I wondered to her if I would always be a freakout. She said something to me that I hadn't realized.. She said, "Cass.. The things you are freaking out about today aren't the things you were freaking out about 6 months ago. It's changed." Things are changing.. Getting easier. I keep thinking I'm stuck in the same place.. But I'm not. Anyway!!!!!!!! I'm going to clean my house today, then go to a meeting to get my little coin. It's a good day!!! YAY! |
