I am sitting in the darkness. Up before the sun. The glow of the iPad on my face and thinking.

I think way to much but in this case it's rather simplistic.

It's a Sunday morning.

A) Still up on cocaine and vodka. Thinking nothing of the consequence of the nights actions. In anticipation of the bar opening. Heart pounding. Face drawn. Mind racing with such cool thoughts.

B) Making my grocery list. Cutting my coupons. Drinking a cup of tea. The cats at my feet purring loudly. I hope they don't wake anyone up. The birds are starting. The crickets are finishing up. Considering what concoction I will make for an early Sunday dinner.

Life is funny.

I was never a good test taker but I have learned enough about life to choose B.

Amazing how life changes. And we have so many early birds on here.
The early morning in the summer is my favorite. Nobody else is awake but me and the birds. They're busy starting their days flitting around.

Fall and winter it is a little harder for me to up so early.

Lol such etherial companions .. i used to listen to medeski , martin and wood at full volume utterly drunk, thinking i was realy living whilst everyone else was living a sham ..

all i was doing was sitting in the dark by myself drinking, occasionaly annoying my neigbours or passing out in my own effluence . Doh!

Despit a wonderful start to the day, I am having mood swings that are rather unpleasant. Frustration mostly. But it will pass. Relaxing on the front porch and reading the posts of others.

I'll take this any day over what my Sundays used to be like.

Just remember all the times you were loaded out of your mind and thought about how if only you could live sober, you'd be so happy, life would be so grand. Now it may not feel like it, but thats what is in store for your future if you keep choosing option B. Happy, joyess, and free!

Lol.... There is a lot of joy that comes with reflecting the sun off the iPad and onto the wall to drive the cats crazy.

Cats are so funny. I have a pair of kittens. They have brought so much joy into the house.

I dont like it much when i experience frustration. Im glad that you are on the porch soaking up the sun, enjoying the little things in life. You are doing well Ken. Enjoy this fabulous Sunday!
