It's my first Friday sober for as long as I can remember and my husband took me up on the idea of taking our dog to the beach and share a bag of chips on the sea front.

We dropped the children off and arrived at the beach about 7.30 just as it was getting dark, it was so peacful.

More importantly I was able to talk and I mean really talk about my feelings and my problem with alcohol and he listened and for the first time never tried to dismiss the idea I was an alcoholic.

what a great post to read. I'm so glad your conversation with your husband worked out. We tend to worry too much, don't we?
