158th day

Hey all,

Wanted to pop in and say my thanks, it's been a while.
I'm still cruising down soberlane and feeling good about it.

I don't know if it's the changing weather or the fact that I'm working pretty hard, but I'm exhausted lately. That in itself makes me not want to drink, because I remember very well how much more tired (+down) drinking made me. I need all my energy to live, thank you very much. ;-)

A few things I'm up to:

- I've started tracking my money about a month ago, to see what's coming in and going out so I can start making adjustments in my spending & saving patern

- I'm sorting through years and years of pictures, sorting, scanning the best ones, putting them in albums

- I'm dating from time to time, and I would have never guessed it, but actually I love doing that sober! I can go into a date knowing I won't start making a complete idiot of myself and knowing that I won't cross any boundaries I'm not ready to cross (& remember the conversation!).

- Since I can feel my mother is really trying to deal with her own acoholism (in her own way) I try to be there for her more in a non-pushy way

- I so enjoy the conversations and interaction with my 5-year old, we've been bonding so much better over the last few months. I can't really put it in words, but I think he feels that I have become the rock he can truly depend on.

Warm hug to everyone!

So glad to hear of your sober time. It keeps on getting better, I find. It sounds like you've got your act together and have a healthy attitude. I am happy for you.
