| Member | Class of April
Looks like I am the first one in the class of April. Day one again. I am so discouraged, I just don't even know what to do anymore. It is really starting to affect my family life. I just can't seem to get a hold on it. But here I go again.

Never give up on yourself and your sobriety. I was a chronic relapser early last year but finally managed to stay sober over six months. Forty some days ago I forgot all I'd learned while sober and drank again. Now I'm back on the wagon for good. Just don't drink today. Repeat every morning. You can do this!

Day 3 here. Feeling okay. Wish I didn't have the thoughts of drinking in the back of my mind all the time. I hope with time it will fade. It just wears me out.

Day 3 is wonderful C!! I love the positive tone. And yes, keep the 1st of April as your date. Make sobriety a part of who you are. We're all here hoping only the best for you.

| ...EclipseWhen I was having intrusive dark thoughts my psychiatrist suggested this mind trick. Each time a negetive idea popped up immediately replace it with 2 positives. Saying the affirmations aloud ...if possible. Yes it did work and I felt so nutso I often ended up laughing at myself. I have no idea if this would work for you but......why not give it a go? Forward is the best direction...

I am having so much anxiety, that I just want to drink to calm down. I know this will go away, but it is making me absolutely crazed. I am eating, taking extra b6 and drinking lots of water, but the way my mind is racing is just insane. Way to keep it up bartender and maggot (where did that name come from?!

Rat, I PLANNED on being sober 5 days (Sun-Thur) but I drank tonight. Ahhhhhhh. God, I did plan on not drinking. But at 7:30, I had dinner and thought about the drink. At 9:30pm I started. I want to kick myself. I have strung at most 4 nights without. And I planned on doing (for me) the ultimate in not drinking for 5 days, but failed. But + 1 for everyone who is still sober. I'm chasing you. In time... |

The first few days are the toughest, then it slowly begins to feel normal not to drink. To think of it now, I wonder just what possessed me to have soooo many d*mn hangovers, am I just a slow learner or what. Hangovers are natures way of telling us, this just ain't right, stop this nonsense. Wish I had listened thirty years ago, that's alot of hangovers, yuck. Today it's great just to not have to feel that way. Hang tough you guys/gals, it does get better.
