| jerimia wright *** damn alcohol.
here i am. i was doing good for almost 2 weeks. i stopped drinking Feb 23 but today i went to the store for some milk and OJ. unfortunately they sell beer and i saw it. sooooo, knowing i will probably drink whatever i have, i only bought 1 six pack of beer. i will get back tomorrow when i probably will feel guilty for doing this to myself. i think it is the mental state we find ourselves. i feel happier and better when i am drinking, than i do when not drinking. i could probably quit longer if not permanintly if i felt happy when not drinking. i feel i always need to alter my state of normalisy. Damn. Later... ![]() back being a slave to this demon. |

I used to only buy a 22 or 24 oz beer for that reason... harm reduction. I knew it wasn't enough to make me sick. Keep trying, you'll get it eventually. Welcome to SR!

Congrats on dumping it out. Isn't it a great feeling? As you are pouring it down the drain, you think to yourself, "Wow, ME? Pouring beer down the drain???" Progress is progress and I'm sure you could have never pictured yourself ever disposing of any beer before. Must be tough that you live in a state that sells beer at regular stores. I'm lucky that you can ONLY get alcohol at a liquor store here, so a milk run will never turn into a beer run! Maybe try going to a different store. Even if it is out of your way, at least you won't be tempted to buy any booze.

i know the feeling..cant live with it cant live without it. Keep trying and dont loose hope... It can take a while for some ,to start feeling better after stopping drinking.. I wont dress it up...it aint easy.....but the rewards are there for you. Trucker |

I know when I quit, I thought everything else would magically fall into place.. cuz the alcohol was the issue.. right? wrong. Sure I felt better, no hangovers, more energy, good outlook on life, then I had to learn how to LIVE again, to enjoy things I forgot to, and find comfort in better health, better relationships, and a better nights' sleep! Life is still there, sober or not.. just need new tools. Can't take away the tool you've been using for however long and assume something else will appear out of thin air to help you, that's YOUR work now.. it's hard.. but so worth it |
