how long does an aa meeting last?
I'm on 32 days sober - I think this has been the easy part.
Now I think I need to reach out and get some tools to help me keep it up, learn how to LIVE life sober.
I almost have the courage worked up to try one out this Saturday.

Like everyone else said on here, anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half.
I personally liked the longer meetings better, sometimes I wished they would never end!
I also liked meetings more that were held at A.A. Meeting Halls, also called Alano-Clubs here, where they usually have them going on all day.

Also to those looking at AA, unless you live in a very small area, there are plenty of AA meeting to choose from. I live in a medium sized city - about 350,000 - and there are about 250 meetings a week here.
If you google "your city, your state aa meetings", you'll usually find them all.

Almost as important as the meeting itself is coming early and staying late. You get to meet and know the people this way, and the ones that do come early and/or stay late usually have a pretty good program.
It doesn't take long - maybe 20 minutes either side of the meeting - but to me its worth it. After all I sure put my time in at the bar! The least I could do is put similar effort into AA.

What if I'm being forced to attend by my probation officer and I need them to sign a reporting sheet? Will they sign it before the meeting ends or do I need to stay for the whole thing?
