Day 29 for me. I feel so empty. I feel depressed. I do not think I really feel my feelings. I think they just sit there. I get trapped in one thing which is not healthy. And that one thing consumes me and I do not deal with anything but that one thing. I am going to a meeting tonight. Have one lined up for tomorrow and Thursday. I get my license back in 31 days. I should be happy about all this.

(((cmhcall))) Praying for you hon. Keep posting and let us know how your meeting goes. Have you found any friends or sponsor through AA? I'm not in AA, but it can definitely work for people. It sounds like you need someone to lean on right now. PM me anytime you want. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Not sure how this thread works, but I'm checking in on day 11. I had a great weekend, coasted right through...but now here it is Monday evening..the bewitching hour. I hate week days after work, this is when I would be knee deep in a stiff vodka sprite. I'm agitated!!! :wtf2

Day 30 for me today. I am so proud of myself but know I have so long to go!!! I am going to meetings almost everyday. I do not have a license so I miss about 2 days a week. (no excuse)... I am going to a meeting tonight that does not give out chips so I will have to wait until Sunday to get my chip. Tomorrow night is BBSS. Has anyone ever done the steps with a BBSS sponsor. That is what I am trying for but it seems hard? |

Timmy the dog...does that ring bells for anyone??? Enid Blyton? Famous Five??? I have spent day explaining why I named my dog Timmy the Dog...I thought whole world knew about Timmy the Dog...Or was it just me who spent my childhood in books before evolving to spend my teenage years drinking...Now getting back to the good stuff (ie Timmy, not drinking) and having to explain myself Sigh!

I loved the famous five and particularly the childishness of laughing at the name aunt Fanny when I was a little boy. My favourite was the Faraway Tree books by the same author. 24 days for me today. This is the longest I have not drunk since I was 17, so 9 years. a week off the full month as well.

More of a Secret Seven kid myself, Famous Five was a wee bit on the scary side for me. All this chasing around in the dead of night down secret passages, enough to turn a young lad to drink. Now theres a thought, is this Enid Blyton lark a recurring thread here, are we perhaps not alcoholics after all, just all had our innocent minds warped by old Enid. Day 69 just about done here. Footie season nearly upon us Wooli eh ! Happy days !!!!!!! |

I can't wait for the footie season FW. Even if I have not got a season ticket this year as I needed this laptop. Day 25, I am looking forward to that magical month mark. And I am on holiday on Saturday

Hi Benj! Okay. What exactly is bubble and squeak or do I really want to know?? Do you landscape? That's what I thought I read somewhere. Our property needs some real help. Do you like cactus? We have plenty of cactus and weeds. Glad you didn't have that beer yesterday. What other reward might you give yourself after a hard day's work? I don't know if a bubble bath would do it for you. ((((Benj)))) CMHCALI - 31 days is awesome! Great job. I hope you have a fantastic day 31!! Iloow - Being the longest sober stretch you've had since 17, how does it feel? You have to be a teensy bit proud of yourself - I should hope. Logcabin - Bask away! 70 days today for you. Wow!! Fizzy - How's things going? You seem to be your chirpy old self. Okay stupid question - where's our friends NEGMAN and STEAMVESSEL?! Haven't seen them around here for quite a while. Giving a shout out for Negman and Steamvessel!!!

| Bubble and squeak (sometimes just called bubble) is a traditional English dish made with the shallow-fried leftover vegetables from a roast dinner. The chief ingredients are potato and cabbage, but carrots, peas, brussels sprouts, and other vegetables can be added. It is traditionally served with cold meat from the Sunday roast, and pickles. Traditionally the meat was added to the bubble and squeak itself, although nowadays the vegetarian version is more common. The cold chopped vegetables (and cold chopped meat if used) are fried in a pan together with mashed potato until the mixture is well-cooked and brown on the sides. There you go Horselover, not quite sure I'd want it for breakfast but then it is Benji we're talking about, thought he'd be a Coco Pops man myself. |

70 days for me today. The longest I've ever been sober is just over 10 weeks ( not sure exactly but think 72/3 days ) which means this weekend I'm into new ground. Other than that one attempt last year at 10 weeks I doubt I've been sober more than a week in 15 odd years. This time I feel fine, really don't want a drink at all. For some reason I'll feel better when I'm comfortably past this point. Good to see everyone doing well |

Negative Man gives a shout back out! Present and accounted for! This is a little sad, but I can't remember what day I'm on. Fizzy, Horselover can you help me out? And Benji -- Thanks so much for your message. Your good humor and fun, as usual, is keeping my spirits up and keeping me sober. Rock on! -- NM |
