Welcome!!! Glad to have you here with us. I know I can use all the help I can get. (Of course, some people would say I am beyond help.) I am only on Day 5 but I hope to make it to 5 years. I really admire you for having the determination it takes to embark on such a journey. When I m ake it through today, it will be my longest time sober for a while. I am really proud of myself tonight. Maybe you can give me some tips on contin uing on this road.

Tanks again everyone! WinWin I love your name Very positive and that's a great start. Taking it little by little and not thinking out farther than what's right in front of you has really helped me. There's an exercise I learned in overcoming my anxiety called a TEA form that helps you learn to deal with all the thoughts that swirl in your head and helps keep you from making the thinking errors that make you feel the need to drink when you really do not. I have found over time the way I was thinking about drinking was what made me need to use it to escape. I think underlying anxiety is behind many of the problems that lead me to my drinking problems in retrospect. I hope you are continuing to make progress and great job getting to this point!
