| Thank you all for these wonderful responses.... I'll have to save the big "How I did it" for later this week...home group, chip and cake celebration tonite. The short version is... God met me in a hotel room on June 8, 2006 when I was ready to die and I have been free ever since. I have gone from wearing wigs to having long curly hair, no income to a stable income, my family back, no friends....to new (old) ones, (my old AA girlfriends) really great ones. How I did it? God, AA, the Steps, reading the Book, getting a sponsor, making sober friends, doing for others But... First...I came here...to SR..so full of fear...not going to meetings....I had gone the six times before in 16 years in and out of recovery... And you carried me through a lot of hard times... Many times I probably did not say anything...just logged on to share. And I knew that..even in the middle of the night, I could share a gratitude, share a verse, ask for prayer or share a praise report with my friends on Christians in Recovery, I could hop on the Newbie Bus, I could be stupid on Bottoms, share with a newcomer....open my soul and find strength in the Spirituality section. I will never forget going through a dark time of the soul and so looked forward to the "Find Rusty Zipper a new Avatar" thread...what a hoot! Nothing like laughter with friends in the middle of the night.... So thank you, SR. Thank you Morning Glory (for) SR.  And thanks Mr. P Bro' for the thread!!!! |
