| Poem I wrote Hi guys, Here's a poem I wrote today. I hope you enjoy. Don't worry I don't feel like this today. Just practicing my writing. Barb Some days really suck being sober. I wish I could drink again. Some days life really sucks. But we have to go on. I wish I didn’t have responsibilities. But we all have and do. Some days really suck being sober. I wish I could drink again. I wish some days that I could be a kid again. But then again I don’t. Some days I get really tired. But I know I have to keep moving. Some days really suck being sober. I wish I could drink again. I hate being a grown up and having to do things for myself. I hate having to take care of myself. But if I don’t who will? Some days really suck being sober. And I don’t want to drink again. Life will get better. I just have to have faith. Some days really suck being sober. But it’s still better then drunk. Things will get better. Have patience. It works. |

| By the 4th stanza, "I wish I could drink again" becomes "And I don't want to drink again", so your poem comes to a good conclusion! Those are the same things I say to myself almost every day. Barb, I feel the day will come when the thought of drinking again doesn't enter our minds, & we won't wish for those old days. Thank you for sharing your poem with us! Write more! |
