BIG BOOK MEETINGS - so very helpful . . . .

I would just like to share with you all how useful i find big book meetings.
Share meetings are all well and good and are indeed very powerful . . . but i have found my home group which is a big book meeting extremely useful with helping me get the message ! Each week we read a chapter (we share the reading) from the big book and then share taking into account what we have read from the big book ! i have learnt so much.

For the first time since I started my recovery I have begun to really read the 12 X 12. This has helped me finally start to have an awakening like I have never felt before. I have read the first 9 steps at home by myself over the past 3 nights, and WOW...it has helped me so much. I don't know how I could have missed so much before. But I was blind to the message in some ways, or could only handle so much before. Now I see a path I need to follow.

I feel ready and willing to do the step correctly this time. I need to, and I want to. My drinkin and druggin has broken me and made me humble. Now I need to carry that into my whole life. Accept, forgive, stay honest, and keep myself in check in all my affairs.

My home group has big book study every Wednesday night. It's been invaluable to my recovery also!
