Hi Everybody! Just doing my morning check-in, and happily announce that this is Day 30 for me. Thanks to everyone for all of the support, advice, and help over the last month. It would have been much more difficult without you guys.

Hello to all my fabuous, inspirational few friends.....

SF-- CONGRATS !! I'm right behind you. Tomorrow is my 30 days and I can't WAIT to go in and ask for my chip. Gravity, I still think you should!

I was sick in bed almost all of last week so, despite being absolutely MISERIBLE... I also have this little gratitude for it. Really, I had a freebie week, in a way. 2 Fridays ago I headed to a AA/AlAnon women's retreat... Getting out of there for a drink, although the fleeting thought did cross my mind, wasn't really very practical. The Monday in between could have been a disaster, but I was very proud of it. Enjoyed a good friend's birthday celebration and was happy to watch and dance with all the drunks --and REMEMBER it all! Then even if I hadn't been 'on the proverbial wagon', I couldn't have drank last week if you'd paid me to... I was laid up in bed all week thinking... "Well, not much self-will gonna go riot while I'm laying here...."

lol - funny in a way, but a blessing in others....

sorry I haven't been around here listening and supporting as much as I would like to, but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I never would have made it through that first day, nor TO my first meeting without you guys... and there have been several long moments in between that I owe my soberiety to you all, as well.

Thank you for being here.

Much love and hugs! ~C

And congrats to you too Onlyway! I'm going to wait until Wednesday for my home group meeting to get my chip. But I'm really excited about it.

Sorry to hear about you being sick, seem like many people here are these days. Just glad you looked at the bright side of it.

Helloooooooooooo SR!

Mates, it's been one heck of a week - one thing after another, no surcease (just wanted to use that word soz) just black, awful reality.

No ISP, went to an internet cafe (I posted here) - got home, the cafe gave me 500 viruses on my USB stick. I got em w/ McAfee, but had to completely reformat my USB stick. I felt dirty, putting it in my computer, it was horrible.

Work has been good for the most part, except that everyone's going to a very posh tasting tonight w/ some really expensive wines, and of course my boss took me aside and said "you know, because you aren't drinking... but you can come if you want?" and I thought about it and said "No", but it still pissed me off.

New ISP took the last 48 hours, endless phonecalls to India or wherever the hell the company is, finally got it working just 30 mins ago and it's a bit shaky but it seems to be holding up. Last night the roof/gutters leaked and dripped dirty water all over my pillows and mattress, I had to rig up towels so I could sleep.

One of my best mates and former drinking buddies just split up with his missus because of his alcohol intake, and he moved out of his house this morning w/ nowhere to go, so he'll be staying on my floor for a week or two. I'm glad I can be here for him, but it's only a tiny one-bedroom flat.

I went to work early, and they said I didn't check the roster and I was four hours early (because of the stupid wine tasting), so I came home to get this internet happening and check on the emergency plumber (who did nothing).

After all that, I went to meeting last night and got a lot out of it, I'm starting to get to know people there and I always feel good when I leave. I am 65 Days sober, and still feeling great about my sobriety. I have almost got enough money to buy my guitar for my 90th Day.

I don't have a whole lot to complain about, just one thing after another that's been building up. I need to start cooking better food, and I am going to the gym tomorrow because I haven't been for about 4 or 5 days and I'm feeling lazy.

Gravity - glad to see you getting through all that, it must be hard - I'm sorry for your loss. TOW - wow! What a weekend, sounds like it's been raining misery where you are too... glad you're still here. trakin - that must be scary, hearing your mum like that talking to the kids. it puts us into perspective though, yeah? And Rob... a Mac? lol, no chance buddy... my PC's rocking along just nicely, thanks! Positive Man - you're ok mate, glad you're back here. Hope that you learned something about why you aren't drinking today. And SF69 - glad you're enjoying your sobriety, I have had moments of pure joy, bliss at being alive, that I attribute to being sober and happy with the world. I'll read some more when I get home tonight, sorry if I missed anyone on this pass...

here's to not struggling any more. Sorry for the whinge, I really needed to unload. thanks for taking it folks, you're all tops.

NDZ

Hi Guys, I made it through another day sober (31 Days) even with the difficulty of putting Tammy down. Really hard day. But I'm still sober.

Glad to see everyone on here.

Take care,
Barb

Having had many animals in our home and 3 at present, it really hurts losing a friend and our animals are the best of friends

A question about cravings...

It's strange, but the last couple of days my cravings have been really bad, like that first weekend I went without drinking. I fear it's because of all my excitement over getting 30 days, and that little booze demon in my mind is saying "See, you made 30 days without drinking. You don't have a problem...now let's go party!"

I was just wondering if anyone else went through this when they hit a milestone?
