Least & Conez: you guys are doing great! Keep hanging in there. It does get better.

I'm finally picking up my 3 month chip at my home group meeting tonight. Trying to think of what to say when I do so I don't sound so repetitive of what I and others have said before. Good problem to have, I guess.

Day 25!

Not drinking is still pretty easy. Getting plenty of exercise. So still doing good. However I seem to have this insatiable appetite.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Smile progress

Hey everyone! TOW, glad you're back. I'm glad I'm back, that's for sure. Thanks to SF69 and Barb.

SF, I've been trying to just speak from my heart and not worry about being repetitive. Congraluations on the 3-month chip! I can't wait to get mine. I've been to a couple of great meetings here already, and I have a wonderful sponsor. I feel really blessed.

Least, well done on almost a month.

Barb, I sympathize with your loss and I know how tough it can be. I have a dog that is sick. I keep thinking he's about to go, and steel myself for it--then he gets better. And then he gets worse, back and forth. I'm glad he's made it this far, and I'm trying to stop predicting what's going to happen. A good lesson for me recovery as well.

Anyway, I've got to roll. I hope everyone has a beautiful day ...

I'm kind of lost about where to go now, LOL.

Congrats to you, and sf69, and everyone else who makes 90. It's an inspiration to those who haven't been there yet, and for those who have too!

It is a roller coaster ride at times, but the alternative is frightening.

Wink busy mornings

Hello everyone. Just a quick post while I drink my coffee and wolf down my breakfast. (Gee, I wonder why my keyboard is sticky?)

One thing I'm struggling with in early recovery: getting out of bed on time. This never used to be a problem when I was drinking. I was a lot more exhausted then, but slept so poorly and was so stressed out and anxious that getting out of bed was a relief from my hyperactive thinking. I've had insomnia all my life, from childhood straight through. Now, with the help of sobriety and medication, I'm sleeping great but can't seem to get out of bed. Can't really go to bed earlier, and not getting up means no morning meditation and no morning exercise.

Maybe that's more for the whiners' thread ---

Have a great day everyone!

Jana

Day 17 for me. My new milestones are as follows: day 22 will probably be the longest I've ever gone since I was 21, Day 30, and Day 60 will be important milestones as well.

I haven't been posting in this thread much this last month and with all the new faces I'm not sure anyone here will recognizes my name. Having said that it is good to see all of you here. Making it as far as this thread is a miracle. You guys are doing great and you all give me hope, thank you.

I have been keeping to myself and quietly learning acceptance. Today I put in my 12 hours at work, ate dinner and watched my home town Utah Jazz playoff game. A simple quiet day in which God kept me sober.

It was a good day.

Twenty seven days for me today!! 27 days!!!!!! Tomorrow I'll have a month. I never in the last year thought I'd be able to stay sober for this long. But with the help of God, my friends here and at AA, I'm doing what I once thought was impossible!

Dean and Tay-90 Days today!

Hey

70 days for me today. Then I learn that Dean and Tay-Lyn have 90! Success happens here at SR. Is it not interesting that a bunch of folks who would not recognize each other if sitting at a bar can be of such inspiration and help to each other. Add this to the list of things, other than porn, that the web facilitates. Good things do happen.

Interestingly, I read the Time article cited in another thread today. It suggests that 90 days is a milestone of sorts-the point at which the brain begins to repair itself. When the prefrontal cortex (decision making) begins to dominate the amygdala (lower functions). See the article for more.

I believe something like that occurred to me yesterday. I may write about it. Had a very intimate conversation with my mind. It tried to seduce me like a woman whose only goal in life was ME. I escaped this Harpie only because of my rational mind.

Congrats Tay and Dean. And others. This little place on the interwebs holds is a tie that binds across continents and oceans. I am grateful beyond words.

Hey Least, Supernothing, Dean and Warren--and everyone ...

I'm having a decent morning. Went to another great meeting last night. Still can't seem to haul my heinie out of bed on time. Oh well. I'll pray on that I guess.

Tonight I'm going to our little town's biggest meeting to get a 30-day chip. I'm excited to be at 35 days and working hard on my recovery program. I so appreciate being able to say hi to my sober online friends in the morning. Have a lovely Friday, and thanks to all.
