Day 8 and I'm Still Tickin
Day 8 and I'm Still Tickin
Hi everyone,
Well 8 days sober has sort of krept up on me since day one when I first logged on here.
Recently got my tune up at the doctors, things are ok except my blood pressure is abit high and i need to loose weight (tell me something I don't know).
Recently switched to night shifts which is better for looking after my son during the day so with that and sobreiety, you could say Ive gone through alot of changes in a short time.
Im still standing and Ive promised myself a drink in the year 2089 for being such a good lad
Stay Cool everyone, those just starting...it gets easier, its never easy...but it does get easier...and what's life without a few challenges?...just existance thats's all!:mock

Ooo at rehab tonight we were just talking about not making any deals with Slick or leaving anything open, like "in a year I'll have a drink" because then it changes to in six months, a month, a week!
Soon you'll be ready to guzzle down the ol' demon in June of 2044!! What kind of life is that?!?!
Haha just giving you jibe, buddy.
Congrats on 8 days When I had made it a week I was hugely proud of myself.
(then of course I 'celibrated' by drinking..tsk tsk tsk, not a good idea, at all) ... but I do know what a big deal it can be, especially if it's been years since a person's gone that long.
Good job and keep it up! It sounds like the change at your job will make it easier..keeping you busy most of the time.

Paul,
You have truly come a long ways in these past eight days. I hope things keep going well. How about the parents? I bet they are as proud of you as you are. Keep on GAMING! You know what I mean,(Mens room thread) LOL.
How old is your boy?
My daughter is five.

Hey well done Mr H, I`m on about the same time as you.5 nov 07 last drink. To keep my mind of the demon drink I have taken to eating like a horse! No not hay and stuff, but snacks and soft drinks. Probably end up looking like santa by Christmas, but hey who cares as long as I stay dry. All the best, stick with it. I`ll be watching out for you..
Thanks everyone, life is really clear at the moment. i have my depressed moments but problems dont seem have as hard when you look at them with sober eyes.

Hi Mr H
I missed you when you first posted just wanted to say hello and congrtulate you on the sober time so far.
I am working new years eve too for the same reason. I volunteered to cover the whole new year period. I'll take a couple of days off in early Jan when everyone is is slogging away at work. Should be quite nice.
Best of luck with the recovery
